What is the Terroir Hospitality Industry Symposium?

Terroir, Southern Ontario’s leading hospitality symposium, since 2007. The Terroir Hospitality Industry Symposium is a non-profit one day education symposium designed to celebrate our diverse culture of professionals in the hospitality industry by building a strong and accessible collective. We recognize and encourage each individual who invests knowledge, experience, tradition, exceptional skills, inspiration, and invention to the business of hospitality. Terroir creates a forum where industry members can come together to support, educate, inform, invest in, and recognize individuals and teams within our professional environment.

Who will attend Terroir IV?

We anticipate over 300 hospitality administrators and decision makers to attend this third annual hospitality symposium dedicated to education and building community in our industry. Based on last year’s attendance, this group will consist of individuals from the following groups:

What happens at Terroir?

Terroir provides hospitality industry professionals the opportunity to learn from and network with colleagues. This motivational one-day symposium will provide you with tools to develop and refine your career in this up-and-coming field.

Terroir brings together influential chefs, food writers, sommeliers, cheese makers, service experts and business leaders who are sure to inspire anyone linked to the business of hospitality.

The day includes:

  • Discussions on definitions and expectations of service standards
  • Wine and food sampling
  • Chef demonstrations
  • Seminars on business principles to educate us all through these difficult economic times
  • Real life examples of excellent customer service

In order to be creative one needs to be inspired. Where do we find that spark, something that challenges the mind, keeps us interested and allows us to be innovative? Terroir IV is all about inspiration and innovation. Stepping beyond the boundaries and pushing limitations. Thinking creatively in order to captivate our own interests and amaze others. As hospitality professionals we want to impress, entertain and delight our guests. Where do we find the source of our own inspiration so that we can continually evolve?

Terroir IV will deliver intellectual inspiration and will provide you with engaging ideas and allow you to explore interesting possibilities with your colleagues about how to push the boundaries in the hospitality industry.
